Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Indianapolis Colts
Date: September 25, 2011
Final Score: 23-20 Winner: Steelers Description and Results This game started out with Roethlisberger losing two fumbles and throwing an interception. Fans were thinking that the game was going downhill from there. After Roethlisberger messed up a couple times, Suisham came to the rescue and kicked a 48 yard field goal for three points. Mike Wallace scored the first touchdown, which was an 81-yard touchdown, the longest run of his career. Of course, Suisham got the extra point and the score was 10-0. The Colts scored a field goal during the second quarter for 3 points, as well as a touchdown and an extra point. After some more battling between the two rival teams, the Colts kick another field goal, making the score 10-13 at halftime. There wasn't any action during the 3rd quarter, but the 4th quarter was extremely interesting in my opinion. Suisham kicked a 44-yard field goal, and Polamalu recovered a fumble for a touchdown, giving the Steelers another 7 points, with Suisham's extra point. The Colts scored once more in the 4th quarter, but that wasn't enough to stop the Steelers. Suisham kicked another field goal, making the final score 23-20. Play and Player of the Game The player of this game was definately Shaun Suisham. If it wasn't for his field goals and extra points on touchdowns, the Steelers would have lost this game. However, Mike Wallace had a really good game too. He had the longest run of his career, and put 6 points up on the scoreboard for the Steelers. Injuries Marcus Gilbert and Doug Legursky, of the Pittsburgh Steelers, were both taken out during the third quarter with shoulder injuries from being tackled. The cornerback of the Colts, Justin Tryon, left during the third quarter also, due to a hamstring injury. |
